Page tree, database views and a dark mode that loads without a flash – what is in the first release and what we left out on purpose.
After eight months of beta, Atlas 1.0 is done. Not “done” as in finished, but in the sense that we will not rebuild the foundations again. What is in it:
The page tree
Content is pages inside pages. The tree on the left is navigation, table of contents and search space in one. It stays expanded or collapsed per device, exactly as you left it.
Database views
Table, board and gallery show the same entries. Filters belong to the view, not the database – two boards on the same collection can show completely different things.
Dark mode without a flash
The theme is set before the first paint. Without JavaScript, Atlas follows the system preference. Both sound obvious, but they were the longest single construction site of the beta.
What is missing on purpose
- Comments on blocks – coming in 1.1.
- Rich-text export to Word. Markdown and PDF are there.
- A mobile app. The web app is fully usable on a phone, and that is enough for now.
Thanks to the 212 beta testers who sent us 1,400 tickets. About 900 of them are done.
